Chocogrind - my attempt at blackened, encrusted, and noisy grindcore - is a 14 track album inspired by the bittersweet results of the cacao industry from Ecuador, which is responsable for nearly 5% of global production.

To represent the cultural diversity of Ecuador and the multicultural, multinational impact that the cacao industry produces, this project features dialogue and lyrics in the following languages:
- English
- Spanish
- Shuar
- Kichwa

Throughout the album, a consistent stream of noise - at times (dis)harmonious - carries the listener from one track to the next to both remind and distract us from the human rights violations committed so that the product remains available and marketable.

Some songs deal less with the cacao industry and rather begin to reflect on the feelings of guilt and worthlessness from introspection, especially as an active or even passive contributor to the unfair trade of cacao and other products. Other songs serve to express the fact that the trade of cacao can and does positively support the lives of both creator and consumer of the goods that lie at the heart of this industry.

I want this album to motivate you:
1) to think even more critically about our actions and the results that they may have on the rest of the world;
2) to write your own grindcore album.
